I have had an extraordinarily good life. I was born in Mississippi to poor but loving parents, moved to Baton Rouge when I was 12, finished college in 4 years, married had two sons, taught 7th grade for 35 years, was widowed in 2001, and became a grandmother in 2008.

I have come curiously close to the end, down beneath my self-indulgent, pitiful hole. Defeated I concede and move closer. I may find comfort here. I may find peace within the emptiness. How pitiful.

And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping, the moon tells me a secret -- my confidant. "As full and bright as I am, this light is not my own. A million light reflections pass over me.

And as I pull my head out, I am without one doubt. Don't want to be down here soothing my narcissism. I must crucify the ego before it's far too late. I pray the light lifts me out before I pine away.
So crucify the ego before it's far too late to leave behind this place, so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable. Just let the light touch you and let the words spill through. Just let them pass right through, bringing out our hope and reason.

My name's Leon. I like the company of others. I'm a very spontaneous person. I graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BS in Business Economics. I am currently at Southern University for my MBA.

I'm not real big on writing about myself so I'll do my best. I'm a huge music fan, I play a few instruments and nothing is better than going to concerts. I listen to everything from jazz, hip-hop, to classical. I'm a die hard Saints fan and love going to games. I'm not a club kinda guy, I'd rather hang with my friends or family or go somewhere and do something random. I have horses and try to go riding as much as possible. I love traveling and can't wait until I'm able to do it as much as I'd like.

Well I am a respectful person i am honest i like to chill with family and friends watch tv listen to music read a book every now and then go to the park with my kids go to the library and write in my diary.

The great-grandson of a Sicilian witch, grandson of a Berkley-trained artist, and nephew of a former cult member, I have continued the family tradition of insanity by becoming a humanities major in today's economy. I have been to 45 American states and 39 foreign countries (42 if you count airport layovers, some of which were longer than most quality vacations), and travel remains the closest thing to a passion I have right now: I also really like gastronomy, history, the mechanics of language, sports journalism (probably even more than I like the sports themselves), good conversation (which I fear I get worse at the older I get. Hot out today, isn't it?), and well-written TV shows. Born in Madison, I am quite proud of my Wisconsin heritage, and feel that my home city is like a family member: I will always love it unconditionally, but it has the ability to annoy the shit out of me like few other things on earth. I came to Louisiana not only because it is the best place in the US to study French, but because it has one of the most fascinating cultures of anywhere on earth. New Orleans and Lafayette are downright mesmerizing, and when Baton Rouge stops whoring itself out to random Texas condominium developers, it might one day be just as cool.

I am smart, funny, sweet, faithful, very open-minded, fairly non-judgmental towards people, and willing to try just about anything. I'm also lazy, self-pitying (which can lead to whining), and not particularly independent. I consider myself a "reactive" conversationalist, meaning if you have something to say, I probably have something to add, while if you're really shy then I may be awkwardly silent. I am open to getting to know absolutely anyone, but find myself most attracted to outgoing, verbose people (if you are so chatty that you get on your friends' nerves, then you may be perfect for me). I adore quirks--I have found that, at least in the past, traits that women see in themselves as shameful or "weird" are often some of my favorite things about them.
